I thought this was a great book. I loved the fact that it was based in Maine. It had a similarity to Stephen King but was different in its own wonderful way. It was very apparent that the author put a lot of time into research as he was writing this story. My jaw hit the floor many, many times while reading this book. I was totally blown away and I really did not anticipate the ending to the story. I still get chills thinking about this book! Get it and read it and be ready to be transported to another place and time all the while still remaining in the present. It's wonderful!!!Product details

I read this in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Tight plot and great characters. Just when you think things can't get worse...watch out! Let your friends know about this book.
This book pulls you in right from the start...I was afraid to get out of bed! Loved the way the characters develop through the book and what an ending! Fantastic!

I really enjoyed the book. Once I stared reading I literally did not want to put down. I enjoyed the story line and characters.Filled with suspense, thrills and a test of ones human character. I look forward to the sequel.
This page turner held my interest from the opening paragraph till the end. I particularly enjoyed the author's understanding and description of the Catholic church in the 1600's. Additionally, he was able to paint an accurate picture of the deep woods of Maine, as well as the character of "Mainers". I was a very enjoyable read.

While I appreciate a good scare, I also appreciate good writing. This had a clever plot, but it felt like the rough draft of a college essay. Keep working on it, and you may be onto something! Maybe Stephen King could offer some tips?
This book stands out as as a thriller that captures the readers imagination from the first chapter to the final page. Set in the backwoods of Maine a series of unsettling events that defy rational thought start the fast pace of this book. The book quickly takes the reader on twists and turns that improbably yet effectively connect the mysterious occurrences to the dark past of the church. A fantastic read that is difficult to put down and leaves you wanting more from T. Stephens.
