This one missed the mark for me. The bdsm element was weak. He was all 'I am so intense that I will scare her with the darkness of my desires', but in reality there was some spanking and it was all during s*x play and some backdoor stuff. This was all written pretty much in a manner that made it seem very vanilla. The word choices the author used made it seem as if none of the things that the hero did to the heroine challenged her at all. He never pushed her into any sort of 'sub space.' In fact some of the things that he did were written as if they didn't hurt her at all but merely gave her a happy little buzz when I think that even at this vanilla level they would have hurt more than that. But she never even shed the smallest tear. The hero didn't want to hurt her at all either physically or mentally. So that was not very believable. And that was before she was slightly injured in a hit and run and then he wouldn't do anything but slow missionary position. She was just okay. Pretty childish not very grown up seeming. I kept wincing when she talked during s*x. Everything she said was either childish, stupid or just embarrassing. I might try one of the menage stories but I'm not sure that Desire Oklahoma is the place for me.

Desire Oklahoma series is a great series by Leah Brooke
ITS GREAT BUT THERE FEELS TO BE SOMETHING MISSING I KEEP PUTTING IT DOWN. NOT LIKE THE OTHERS I READ THOSE SO FAST I JUST CANT PUT MY FINGURE ON IT . IT NEEDS SOMETHING BUT I WILL FINISH IT ITS JUST GOING TO TAKE A LITTLE LONGER. SORRY
When reading Dark Desire, I was very disappointed and continued to ask myself-- what happened? It was like someone else was writting the story other than Leah Brooke. The story was flat, Ace was one dementional. I had to force myself to read the book. I am giving this book 2 stars, over priced, needs editing, story was as weak as the main characters. I did buy the next book and I am hopeful that it is as good as books 1-4.
Having read the other 4 books in the series I was hoping for another great read. The story was just not there where the others had strong characters and some mystery. Hope simply irritated me as a whiney spoiled child. Still I read the book and had some enjoyment with it, since I like to read the entire series. I hope Leah goes back to the style of the first 4 books with her next installment of the series!
This is one book that I will come back to and read again. It made me laugh, cry, and even better yet, wet. I loved that he was really trying to protect her from his dark side that he did think she could handle. Boy, was he wrong. The last sex scene was a bit eye opening on what they considered full submission. If you are into BDSM books, you will enjoy this.
Start with book 1 and go from there. with all books, you will find a few typos but the over all story is amazing, each one is with a different character in Desire and with all the personalities the story lines will differ. You will enjoy each of the books in a different way. I can't wait for the rest of the town to get their turn to tell their story. With so many left to tell The Author has many books left to go and I am hoping soon to hear about Ethan & his partner, they have helped everyone else in the town and deserve their HEA also.
Love a good Leah Brooke story. The "Desire" series is well written and interesting. This one was a bit to long in the back and forth of finally deciding to be together. But that said, I loved the characters. This story is fun, suspenseful, interesting and a real page turner. The characters are awesome. Deep thoughtful feelings, hot sex and romance, and a twist and turn plot. I love how she introduces new characters to this little town of Desire. These stories are wonderful, though this isn't my favorite. I will keep reading the whole series! ENJOY !!.
